This roofing system produces power silently with no pollution and without depleting resources and blends with contemporary building styles. United Solar's rooftop solar systems eliminate the expense, offensive looks and additional footprint of panel racks or freestanding trackers. Another advantage is that the length of wiring runs and voltage drop are minimized because the electricity is produced close to where it is used. Triple Junction technology provides unprecedented levels of efficiency for amorphous-silicon solar cells with a 20 year warranty. The lightweight, flexible PV cells are encapsulated in weather-resistant polymers. The resulting unbreakable, non-reflective solar electric laminate is bonded to conventional standing seam roofing panels that install and function just like architectural standing seam roofing panels (ASR) for use on any south facing roof with good solar access and structural standing seam panels (SSR) for carports, shops, barns, electric tractor sheds, etc. The photovoltaic portion of the roofing panels are offered in two different lengths, the 9'6" laminates are 12 Volts and the 18'4" laminates are 24 Volts. A 20% discount is available on the cost of metal roofing when UNI-SOLAR laminates are ordered. UNI-SOLAR roofing products are the key components of a total solar power system. The system integrates the solar electric roofing panels with the necessary combiner boxes, inverter, and wiring to convert sunlight into electric energy and distribute it directly to the building.
